Overview

Costs → Overview.

The Costs overview: total cost against the previous period, the monthly projection, the top service and account, and the daily cost trend.
Date range
Pick the period to analyse. Every figure on the page follows it. The default is the last 30 days.
Spend at a glance
Total cost versus the previous period of the same length, the projected monthly cost, and your top service and account.
Charts
Daily Cost Trend shows the total per day, to spot spikes and changes in the run rate. Cost by Provider and Cost by Category (compute, storage, network…) show where it goes.
Top services and accounts
The highest-cost services and accounts in the range, with their share of the total.

Cost Explorer

Costs → Cost Explorer.

The Cost Explorer: filters, grouping and the stacked cost chart.
Group By
Group the spend by service, account, provider, category, allocation group, usage type, resource or a tag, and aggregate it by day, week or month (Temporal Aggregation).
Filters
Focus on, or exclude, specific accounts, providers, categories, allocation groups, services and usage types. Pick a value to Show only this or Exclude this; Reset clears every filter.
Breakdown table
One column per period, with the filtered totals and the projected monthly run rate for the current filters.
Tags
Grouping by a tag shows what each value costs; spend without the tag appears as (untagged). Some tags are filled in by the app rather than read from the bill, and the explorer warns you when you group by one of them.

About the figures

Billed cost
Both pages report the billed cost imported from your providers, so they need billing data (see Cost Aggregation).
Empty period
A period with no data shows an empty page. Widen the date range, or check that the accounts import billing data.
Freshness
The time next to Refresh shows when the figures were computed; Refresh recalculates them.
